**About the Role**

We are looking for a senior SEO professional ready to step into a leadership role. As SEO Team Lead at DGTL360, you will be the strategic and operational backbone of our organic search practice — owning SEO outcomes across a portfolio of client accounts while leading, mentoring, and growing a team of SEO specialists.

This is not a purely executional role. You will be expected to set the SEO vision for each client, connect organic strategy to broader business goals, drive alignment across content, development, and performance teams, and represent SEO as a growth lever in client conversations. The right candidate combines deep technical SEO knowledge with strong people leadership and client management skills.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1\. SEO Strategy \& Planning**

* Own the SEO strategy across an assigned portfolio of client accounts — from audit and discovery through to roadmap creation and quarterly planning.
* Develop customised organic search strategies for each client, aligned to their business goals, audience, and competitive landscape.
* Identify and prioritise opportunities across technical SEO, on\-page optimisation, content, and link acquisition to maximise organic visibility and traffic.
* Stay ahead of Google algorithm updates, search trends, and emerging SEO developments (AI search, SGE, zero\-click, etc.) and translate them into actionable recommendations.
* Build and present strategic SEO roadmaps to clients and internal stakeholders with clear timelines, KPIs, and expected outcomes.

**2\. Technical SEO Ownership**

* Lead comprehensive technical SEO audits covering site architecture, crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, page speed, structured data, hreflang, and mobile usability.
* Work closely with the web development team to ensure SEO best practices are embedded in all website builds, migrations, and updates.
* Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues — including crawl budget waste, duplicate content, canonicalisation errors, redirect chains, and log file anomalies.
* Oversee implementation of schema markup, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, and other technical configurations across client sites.
* Lead website migration projects with thorough pre\- and post\-migration SEO planning to protect and grow organic performance.

**3\. On\-Page SEO \& Content Strategy**

* Drive on\-page SEO excellence across client websites — including keyword mapping, meta optimisation, header structure, internal linking, and content gap analysis.
* Develop content strategies grounded in keyword research, search intent analysis, and competitive benchmarking.
* Collaborate with the content team to brief, review, and quality\-check SEO\-optimised content that serves both users and search engines.
* Build topical authority frameworks for clients by identifying pillar\-cluster opportunities and guiding content production accordingly.
* Conduct regular content audits to identify pages for improvement, consolidation, or removal based on performance data.

**4\. Off\-Page SEO \& Authority Building**

* Design and oversee ethical, white\-hat link acquisition strategies tailored to each client's niche and authority goals.
* Identify high\-quality link opportunities through digital PR, content partnerships, guest contributions, and industry directories.
* Monitor and manage backlink profiles using tools such as SEMrush — proactively disavowing toxic links where required.
* Build relationships with relevant publishers and content partners to support long\-term domain authority growth.

**5\. Analytics, Reporting \& Insights**

* Own SEO performance reporting across all client accounts — setting up dashboards in GA4, Google Search Console, and reporting tools (Looker Studio, etc.).
* Define and track meaningful SEO KPIs: organic sessions, keyword rankings, share of voice, click\-through rates, conversions from organic, and revenue attribution.
* Translate data into clear, client\-friendly insights and forward\-looking recommendations — connecting SEO performance to business outcomes.
* Conduct regular performance reviews with clients, presenting progress against goals and adjusting strategy based on data.
* Maintain a proactive approach to anomaly detection — flagging traffic drops, ranking volatility, or indexation issues early and responding swiftly.

**6\. Team Leadership \& Development**

* Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Senior SEO Specialists and Junior SEOs — setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and supporting career growth.
* Conduct regular 1:1s, team reviews, and knowledge\-sharing sessions to build a high\-performance SEO culture.
* Delegate work effectively across the team based on skills, capacity, and client complexity.
* Establish team processes, SOPs, and quality benchmarks to ensure consistent, high\-quality output across all accounts.
* Champion continuous learning within the team — fostering a culture of curiosity, testing, and staying current with industry developments.

**7\. Client Management \& Stakeholder Communication**

* Serve as the primary SEO point of contact for assigned clients — building trusted, consultative relationships built on transparency and results.
* Lead client onboarding, strategy presentations, monthly review meetings, and QBRs.
* Coordinate seamlessly between the SEO team, content team, web development, PPC, and business development to deliver integrated, holistic digital strategies.
* Identify opportunities to grow client accounts through expanded scope, new services, or additional SEO investment.
* Ensure timely, accurate delivery of all client deliverables — audits, reports, recommendations, and content briefs.

**Skills \& QualificationsMandatory Requirements**

* Minimum 4 years of experience in SEO, with at least 2 years in a team lead or senior management role.
* Proven track record of managing and growing organic search performance across multiple client accounts simultaneously.
* Hands\-on experience with leading SEO tools: Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and Looker Studio.
* Deep understanding of Google's ranking systems, core algorithm updates, and E\-E\-A\-T principles.

**Technical SEO**

* Expert\-level understanding of technical SEO: crawling, indexation, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, page speed optimisation, structured data, and log file analysis.
* Hands\-on experience managing website migrations with zero or minimal organic traffic loss.
* Proficiency in HTML, CSS basics, and working knowledge of JavaScript's impact on SEO.
* Familiarity with server\-side rendering, headless CMS architectures, and modern web development frameworks from an SEO perspective.

**Content \& On\-Page SEO**

* Strong command of keyword research methodologies, search intent mapping, and topical authority building.
* Experience briefing and collaborating with content writers to produce SEO\-optimised, high\-quality content.
* Ability to conduct comprehensive content audits and develop data\-backed content strategies.

**Leadership \& Communication**

* Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop an SEO team with varying levels of experience.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to explain complex SEO concepts clearly to clients and non\-technical stakeholders.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple accounts and deadlines without compromising quality.
* Client\-facing confidence with the ability to handle challenging conversations, manage expectations, and build long\-term partnerships.
* A postgraduate degree in Marketing, IT, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
